Testy Tuesday

It's that time again. Just below are the pet peeves that are driving us crazy this week. Add your own in the comments, or ditto someone else. Commiserate with each other, blow off steam and go on your merry way.

Kylee: my crockpot cracked😲

Stephanie: leaving the grocery store, getting all the way home, then remebering the thing you went to the store for jn the first place.

Jill:  When you go to put your mascara on and you accidentally stab yourself in the eye. And then you blink smear the rest of the mascara all over the place.

Now it's your turn. What's bugging you?

Off to Brazil

I won't be posting for a few weeks as we adjust to our big move, but here are a few pictures so you don't forget us!

Mommy-daughter café de tarde (afternoon coffee or in her case afternoon juice)

Labor day churrasco (grill out)

"can I help you?"

This is the restaurant we ate at om Sunday... The dog was inside.

Hubby preaching again

Sisterly chats

More dirt play. This time with bucket and shovels!

And this because my mother said it reminded her of me. My first response was "how rude!", but.... I can't say she's wrong.🤷‍♀️

Would You Rather?

So let's end the week on a fun note. I've got a short list of questions. You tell me which one you'd rather do out of each of the choices.

Come on. It's simple; it's easy; and you weren't going to do anything but scroll through facebook for the next few minutes anyway. Answer in the comments.

You know you want to.

So ... would you rather--

1.  Eat pie or cake?

2.  Sing a solo or give a speech?

3.  Clean the bathroom or clean the kitchen?

4.  Go to the beach or the mountains?

5.  Kill a bat or a mouse?

6.  Have curly hair or straight hair?

7.  Take a political science class or an economics class?

8.   Change the oil in your car or change a tire?

9.   Serve in the nursery or on a bus route?

10.  Go to a party or sit at home in your jammies?

See, that didn't take long. Have a happy weekend.

Happy Thoughts Thursday

So you've made it through half the week, but it's still not Friday yet. Sometimes by Thursday you need a little lift to make it to the weekend.

Our solution? Happy Thought Thursday. On Tuesdays you can drop a pet peeve or an irritation. On Thursdays, give us a praise, a thankfulness, or something that just makes you happy. Your contributions on Thursday can be deep and spiritual, such as thankfulness for your salvation, or as shallow as a cup of coffee or a good hair day.  Here are our happy thoughts for this week:

Stephanie: my clothes line!

Kylee: 10 weeks to go!

Jill:  cooler weather!

what about you? What makes you happy today?

A Convicting Thought

Have you ever felt conviction because of something someone has said? What if it was a child? Maybe you would say yes, some would probably say no. What if it was something that was said from your own child?

My husband has a heart for lost souls. Our daughter seems to be following in her daddy’s footsteps. Where ever we may be, whether it’s the grocery store or a restaurant, my 5 year old daughter is asking strangers if they go to church anywhere. She follows their answer no matter what it may be with, “You should come visit us as Sycamore Baptist Church, sometime”.

The other day we were in the drive thru. I had paid and I got our food. She told me as we were pulling away from the window, “Mom, you should ask them if they go to church anywhere.”

It was such a convicting thought for me. She was right. Why didn’t I?

- I was in a hurry.
- They were busy and there was a long line.
- Would they even come if I asked?

What is holding us back? Are we scared that someone might turn us down? What’s the worst that could happen?

Are we too busy? We shouldn’t be. It only takes a second to hand someone a tract and invite them to your next service.

Proverbs 11:30 - The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

Mark 16:15 - And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Luke 14:23 - And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.

It’s a happy thought to know that my daughter is proud of her church and wants people to know about church as well. I am proud of my church too, but I can be doing more. I should be doing more!

Testy Tuesdays

It's that time again. Just below are the pet peeves that are driving us crazy this week. Add your own in the comments, or ditto someone else. Commiserate with each other, blow off steam and go on your merry way.

Kylee: when people don't use basic manners

Stephanie: when you forget you left the water running, and then there's water all over the floor

Jill:  toothaches

Now it's your turn. What's bugging you?

Off to Brazil

I won't be posting for a few weeks as we adjust to our big move, but here are a few pictures so you don't forget us!
Ordering fresh pão de quejo (cheese bread) without an intepreter. There was a lot of pointing and nodding involved, and the few Portuguese words I know!

 Walking to church yesterday morning.

Children's Sunday school verse and song

Singing "His way is perfect" in portuguese

 Playing in the dirt.

 The aftermath

Because sleeping babies are just too cute!
