As most of you know Vacation Bible School takes weeks of preparation. However, I believe the week before VBS is the busiest, craziest, most exhausting and trying week of them all. There is a lot of blood, sweat and tears that go into a week like vbs. For example, my sister-in-law and I were creating this treasure map scene in our foyer and while working on "Pirate Island", she cut her finger with a box cutter. She practically cut it all the way off, it was gushing blood and ... just kidding, it was nothing a simple bandaid couldn't handle. Later that day I was prepping the penny buckets with signs for our boys verses GIRLS competition and I was using a heavy duty tape dispenser and harpooned my finger. Hopefully, that will be all of the injuries for the next to weeks.
This year my husband wanted to go big or go home when it came to our backdrop! I mean, you have to when it's a pirate ship. Right? Well, we went big, all right.
This photo is not the finished product but I can't give it all away before VBS!
Speaking of sweaty jobs, has anyone ever worked a back pack vacuum with a twenty pound child in tow? That's considered working out to me.
Sometimes we were successful ...
And sometimes we weren't ...
Although this week isn't over yet, we have made a lot of memories despite the blood, sweat and tears.
We are looking forward to a great Vacation Bible School next week. Please pray with us that everything flows smoothly with no shipwrecks. More importantly, please pray we see many children come to know Christ as their Savior!
Those two are the opposite of what they were last night! My sweat came from my classroom... The AC either wasn't on or wasn't working!! 😵 it's been a fun week though, and you also got your workouts in 💪💪💪 always a good thing!!
