When you start a War, Bee sure you finish it!

Well, we were finally able to rent a house here in Brazil. It's a wonderful house. There were just a few things the landlord was going to tend to before we moved in. One of which, was the fact that there were two Bee hives on the back side near our bedroom.

No big deal. They were going to take care of the problem.

Except when move in day arrived, the bees were still there, and they had made themselves even more comfortable. They were now entering the house through a tiny slit in the ceiling. It was just in one room directly under the hive so we kept that door closed. That one room was the closet in our bedroom, though, so we couldn't move into our bedroom.

No big deal. We had a house and they were going to take care of it....right??

Then they came to take care of the bees. They sprayed poison outside all around where they saw bees. They left the poison and told my hubby to spray a couple more times, and in a few days the whole hive would be affected and we would be good to move in there.

Well, the bees seemed to be dying off, but two days later, we woke up to find this...
Look closely. This is the room they started in, and that is a lot more bees than there were st the beginning of this.

This is the bathroom right next to that other room and they decided to invade here too.

Not to mention, there's tons and tons of dead bees on the floor in this rooms.

I did not realize this was an "it will get worse before it get's better situation" 🤷‍♀️ but we were not about to lose to a bunch of bees. Our landlord  just happened to be coming that day to check something else. So we took the opportunity to show him the situation. We opened the door and his eyes got huge, and he grabbed the door to shut it back. Then later that day, he sent these guys.

I was little disappointed that all they were doing was spraying again,  but they said they'll be back. They're going to do a sneak attack at night when all the bees are sleeping. Then they will all die!!! Sorry, I got a little carried away, but can you blame me??

Last we checked, there was not a single living Bee in either of those rooms, but I still see them buzzing around right outside those rooms. Thats ok, though. This War is not over yet.

  3. I had a summer of bee battles at Youth Haven Ranch when I was the lifeguard there. We had kiddos who were allergic so it brought out maternal instincts. I think I killed over 225 bees on one day during the war.
